How We Compare
Camera-based laser scoring is our lane. Hardware mechanics sensors solve a different problem — and pair well with LaserLock.

Compared as at August 2026, based on publicly available product information for the categories described. Product categories vary and individual products may differ — check current specifications before purchasing. ¹ Camera-based apps that score laser hits on printed or on-screen targets. ² LaserLock scores point of impact; a rail-mounted mechanics sensor analyses your trigger press — the two measure different things. ³ Leaderboards will be optional and strictly opt-in; core training never requires an account. All product names and trademarks referenced are the property of their respective owners. LaserLock is not affiliated with or endorsed by any other manufacturer.
Better Together
Rail-mounted mechanics sensors and LaserLock aren't rivals — they measure different halves of the same shot. A sensor watches your mechanics: trigger press, muzzle wobble, movement before and after the break. LaserLock watches your results: where the shot actually landed, how fast your splits were, whether you engaged targets in the called order. Mount your sensor, chamber your laser cartridge, and run both in the same dry-fire session — mechanics feedback from your rail, impact scoring from LaserLock. Full picture, zero extra effort.
Because your training data is processed and stored on your own device, there's nothing to sign up for and no training history sitting on our servers. Global leaderboards and shared challenges — which do need a secure backend — are on the roadmap as an opt-in upgrade. When they arrive, offline-first stays the default: you choose what, if anything, gets shared.
